Drive, Path and
Patio Cleaning FAQs
•
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Depending on the size of the area and amount of staining and dirt build
up - most drives, paths, patios or forecourts will be cleaned within one
day.
•
WHAT PROCESSES ARE INVOLVED?
There are several clean and efficient stages of work:
Stage 1. Repair any damaged areas.
Stage 2. Clean surface removing algae, dirt, weed growth
and most stains.
Stage 3. Re-sand.
Stage 4. Apply appropriate sand stabiliser or surface
sealer.
•
WHAT ABOUT RE-SANDING AND STABILISING?
This can only take place once the area is completely dry. Weather permitting
- usually 24 to 48 hours after cleaning. Again, this stage should be finished
within one day.
•
WHY HAVE THE SURFACE SEALED?
Sealing will restore and enhance the original colour of the surface. It
will also provide extra protection against the elements and give a longer
lasting finish.
•
WHAT ABOUT WEED PREVENTION?
The application of the stabiliser/sealant helps prevent the jointing sand
washing out and gives additional protection against weeds.
•
WILL THERE BE ANY DISRUPTION?
While work is being carried out, there will be an absolute minimum of
disruption. After each stage, our engineers will always leave the site
clean and tidy.
•
CAN STAINS BE REMOVED?
Mould, mildew, algae, paint, mortar and even oil stains can often be completely
removed. Our engineers will advise on individual stains as age and the
porosity of the surface can have an affect.
•
WILL I HAVE TO STAY OFF THE SURFACE AFTER CLEANING?
After cleaning - no. To allow a sealed area to cure we recommend foot
traffic to be allowed only after 3-4 hours and vehicular traffic after
at least 24 hours.
•
